HERIT4AGES Renovation Solutions Installed at Bologna Demo Site

The HERIT4AGES project has reached another important milestone with the installation of renovation solutions at the Bologna demo site, located at the School of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Bologna — a representative example of Modernist cultural heritage.

The intervention focuses on a system of innovative wall panels designed to improve thermal and hygrothermal comfort while enhancing the energy efficiency of the building’s opaque envelope. These solutions have been carefully developed to remain compatible with heritage values.

To ensure accurate performance evaluation, the panels are supported by an integrated sensor system connected to the HERIT4AGES Digital Twin ecosystem. This will enable continuous monitoring and data analysis, providing valuable insights into real-world performance and long-term impact.

The installation was carried out with the support of project partners from Łukasiewicz – Warszawski Instytut Technologiczny, whose collaboration contributed significantly to this phase.

The Bologna demo site plays a crucial role in validating HERIT4AGES solutions under real operating conditions, demonstrating how innovation and heritage preservation can go hand in hand.
