HERIT4AGES represented at early June events in Spain and Ireland

In early June, HERIT4AGES was represented at the IC2: Innovation Industry Construction Congress in Santander, Spain, and the IBPSA World-Ireland National Student Symposium 2026 in Dublin, Ireland.

The IC2 congress took place from 1 to 5 June 2026 at the Magdalena Palace in Santander. HERIT4AGES partners CETIM and TESELA contributed through presentations and a project poster. On 3 June, Ismael Azuaga Arjona presented the poster “Clay and plant fibre construction panels for heritage rehabilitation: a sustainable solution based on the circular economy”. The poster was authored by Ismael Azuaga-Arjona, Stephany Arrejuría, Gaspar Carrasco-Huertas, Eugenio Navarro-Torres and M. Alberto Miguéns-Blanco from TESELA and CETIM.

The poster presented reversible clay and plant fibre panels designed for heritage rehabilitation, with a focus on improving building performance while using materials compatible with historic structures and circular economy principles.

CETIM also presented research related to HERIT4AGES, including alkaline-activated mortars for heritage rehabilitation and work on construction and demolition waste recovery. TESELA participated in two technical roundtables, presenting research on BIM and additive manufacturing for heritage conservation, as well as the evaluation of lime mortars used in restoration.

HERIT4AGES was also represented by Tyndall National Institute at the IBPSA World-Ireland National Student Symposium, held on 3–4 June 2026 at Dublin City University. Tyndall researchers Musannif Shah, Carlos Ochoa and Fawad Ahmed presented a project poster focused on improving the energy performance and resilience of heritage buildings through modelling and digital technologies.
